In her role as Director of Marketing & Event Management for Talent Function, Debbie Osaki leverages more than two decades of experience in meeting planning, as well as HR and recruiting. She currently supports a wide range of activities for Talent Function, including client and vendor relations, contract negotiation, budget management and product development. As a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) and Destination Management Certified Professional (DMCP), she has helped numerous organizations throughout her career, both corporate and non-profit alike, in meeting planning and program management.
Prior to joining Talent Function, Debbie spent ten years with TMM|The Meeting Manager as a Senior Account Manager. In this role, she was responsible for securing business with prospective clients, managing events for group sizes ranging from 30 people to 15,000 and identifying new vendor relationships to continually improve the company’s services and product development. Earlier in her career, Debbie held meeting planning and recruiting roles with companies such as MP3.com, Gateway, Inc., and Qualcomm. In addition to planning and coordinating meetings in these positions, she was also responsible for identifying prospective candidates, establishing best practice recruiting processes and training colleagues.
Debbie holds a BA in Communication and Psychology from the University of Arizona, Tucson, as well as a Meeting Management and Special Events Planner Certification from the University of California, San Diego. Since 1992, she has been a Volunteer Event Manager for H.O.P.E. Worldwide.
